Back in March, I was telling you the story about the People of Grayson, Saskatchewan, who are raising money to rebuild their curling rink that can’t be used because of structural damage. Things have been said and done, but Cheryl decided to join their cause: on the evening of June 7th, Cheryl and her friends organized a fundraiser diner to help them gather the money needed to rebuild their curling rink by promoting the important of sport for youth in communities.

Cori Bartel
The Olympic silver medal team didn’t part ways in bad term. Life changes, objectives change, and this Olympic experience sure changed their perspective – each member finding their own.
“It is sad to part ways with 3 teammates and a coach whom I’ve shared so many special memories, but it’s also wonderful to be able to look back and realize that we accomplished what we set out to do 6 years ago. Not everyone has such good fortune!“ – Cori Bartel.

Creativity
Today is a special day for me – a year ago, it was the beginning of an incredible adventure with Team Bernard and believe me, I had no idea how far it would go. So, I just feel to share so prettiness.
You may recognise those pictures from SierraSil’s photo shooting in Victoria back in March. Feel free to use it, if you posted it elsewhere please link it to my blog as it is one of my creation.
Bill, I made it for you, but it might not be the best considering your current desktop. I'll work on something else for you one day soon!

Dairy Queen Delights
More pictures of the Dairy Queen special day as they broke the World Record for the biggest ice cream cake ever made. Ramm production helped and got some great picture on their facebook page.

Dairy Queen Delights continue
So, yes, the Guinness record was broken – the biggest cake was built in Canada. Cheryl was presiding over the whole thing and had an eye on the construction of the 22,333 pounds cake at all time while entertaining the crowd eager the get a piece of that huge ice cream cake. "We’re not just going to break that record, we’re going to shatter it." said Bernard, and they did!
Apparently, she was a real tease and tormented the steadily amassing crowd frenquently asking “"Who wants ice cream?" , rhetorically, every 15-or-so minutes, whipping the crowd into a frenzy only to tell them that they have to wait "just a little longer." My kind of girl! lol
We also learn that Cheryl always has a box of Dilly Bars in “the deep freeze”. ;)

Dairy Queen Delights
I know I should keep some for tomorrow, but I like new stuff. The cake, which took 22 volunteers to put together, beat the previous world record by about 4,000 lbs: 22,333.6 lbs is the final weight.
“They won the gold medal,” Bernard said of the work of the 22 volunteers who put the cake together. “I had a couple pieces. The Oreo crumble was my favorite part.”
Visit the CNW Group website to grab the original and watch a little video about the event.
