Alberta Scotties Update
Team Bernard run came to an end this afternoon with a loss to Nedohin in what was a strange match with several momentum shifts and at the end, the result wasn’t in the favor of our girls. I hate having to announce that they lost, but I am telling you, having to tell that they lost that one, kills me. They wanted it so badly, I wanted it so badly, and I bet, a lot of you, wanted it so badly for them.
The deception was obvious in Cheryl’s crystal eyes when her last rock didn’t make it to the four foot. “That was too bad. You know what, you couldn’t have asked for an easier shot. I kinda yanked it a little bit and I knew once it got to the slide path it would probably slow down a bit. I just didn’t throw enough. You couldn’t ask for an easier shot. I just didn’t make it. That’s all you want to have, the four foot, especially against these teams. That’s not such a tough shot,” insisted Bernard.
The truth is, no one can make all the shoots all the time, even as great as they are, it just happened at a very bad time.
"Obviously, we've just had an incredible ride and last year was absolute magic," said Morris. "That's the disappointing part about here; I, particularly, didn't come out with my 'A' game today and you always regret those and wish that you could carry on."
"Winning the provincial title would have capped off a long, great run and it would have been great to get there, with family and stuff," said Bernard, who has roots in Prince Edward Island.
Overall, a semi final wouldn’t be so bad, if the stake wouldn’t have been that high. But the Skip says so : « I'm proud of the team. We've had a good year for it being a relaxed year. We didn't put a lot into this year, we didn't work as hard as normally do, and we played well. So we'll see what the future holds."
I don't know for you, but I am still very proud of what they accomplished so far this season. Last year was a dream for them but it was also so exhausting mentally, and none of us can imagine that unless they were in their position.
Hang on in there, keep on working and having that great attitude, it paid off before, it will pay off again. I feel that the future still holds pretty things for Team Bernard. :)

Alberta Scotties Update
Those 2 teams, Team Bernard and Team Kleibrink, always offer a great thrill to their supporters when they meet, and this is what happened also today. However, this time, Kleibrink turned out to be the winners. Things weren’t looking so good for Bernard after 7 ends, trailing 3-7 but they scored a big 4 points in the eight end to level the match 7-7. Their opponent had the hammer in the extra end, and faithful to the story of that match – there was no steal in the entire game- they scored.
Things are not over for Team Bernard. They will have another shot at it tomorrow morning at 9.30 (CT) as they are going to go against Team Nedohin. Go Team Bernard.

Alberta Scotties Update
On draw 7, Team Bernard Gals were meeting Team Webster on a rematch of Wednesday's first draw. This time, Bernard take a big lead, big enough to ensure a 8-7 victory. Now, they will go against Team Nedohin for a berth in the seminfinal playoff Saturday.
Bernard knows that it is not going to be an easy match: “There’s still lots more to go. Nedohin will be a tough one and they seem to be on the same roll,” said Bernard.

Alberta Scotties Update
The score says it all: that was a very close match. Everything is still possible, Team Bernard will play in the event B against Team Sonnenberg tomorrow at 2.00pm (CT).
Comment from the skip: "It was a good game; too bad we got down early, we were so close in the first five ends to making a couple of shots. We were just missing some sweeping calls."

Alberta Scotties - Camrose 2011
Alberta Scotties tournament of heart starts today. Team Bernard have been working to win this one, which would allow them to go to the Scotties. First seeded in that event, their first match will be at 06.30pm (CT). Here's draw A.
Also, there is a framed watercolor painting to win. It was painted by local artist Darcy Polny, depicts the past, present and future of curling in Camrose. The first curling/skating rink built in 1911 and women curlers from the 1950’s, Gladys Duggan, Connie Berg, Devina Dennis and Flo Mohler represent our curling history. Canada’s silver medalist from the Vancouver Games, Cheryl Bernard is a focal point for the present, and a competitor in the tournament. Junior curler Danielle Robitaille represents the future. Signed by artist Darcy Polny and Cheryl Bernard, the painting is a fantastic keepsake to celebrate a century of curling in Camrose! Visit the Website to see how you can win.

Continental Cup Skins "C" stats
So many events in the same time, i couldn't post all the stuff i had on the Continental Cup. In their last match, Team Bernard made a huge contribution of 43 points (on a possibility of 55) winning their skins match against Team Wang from China.

Team Bernard can be proud
Cheryl and her teammates surely gave a scare to Martin today. The Girls were “this close” to beat the Boys. In the first part, Team Bernard made some awesome shots while Team Martin members were still trying to figure out the ice. On the second part, the men put themselves together and took the fifth end but still the women were still holding their part of the bargain big time. The seventh end had a 7500$ value and I’d say it was the only end that our favourite foursome had a little low: unfortunately, it determined also who would go to the final, and Martin got his 2 points . That last end was worth 6500$ and despite knowing that they would not go to the final, Bernard scored 2 to finish their day with a 10 000$ in gain while Martin got 11 000$.
Pretty close and with that result, Bernard proves that she can compete with the best male curlers on the planet.

Cheryl on TSN - Off the Record
Today, Cheryl was on Off the Record. She first was on the "one one one" interview. Then, Michael had all the Skip of the teams that are part of the this weekend Skin Games and then, on the very popular traditional "Next Question", he had a lot of question for Cheryl. You can see the original on TSN VOD here, but as it is available only for a limited time, i saved it here preciously!

Susan and Cheryl were playing in that event. If Cheryl admitted she can't sweep, Susan was no stranger to this kind of play.
