Team Bernard makes it to the playoffs winning their 2 matches today. The first one was against Team Doig 6-5. Then, after less than an hour break, they were back on the ice to play against Team Jensen and got enough fuel left in the tank to nail it 5-3. Playoffs starts tomorrow at 9.00am (mt).

Red Deer Classic
A busy day for Team Bernard; it start early, with a win of 5-3 over Doyle. Later, they loss a tight match to a familiar opponent; Team Webster, 5-4. Moving to the C event, they had to play against Team Eyamie and I got a scare; fortunately, Team Bernard hung on and came back to win 4-3.
So, everything is still possible but no more loss is affordable. 2 matches to win tomorrow to make it to the playoffs. GO GO GO TB!

Red Deer Classic Update
The competition started at 12.15pm for Team Bernard and our girls were competing against Team Wood. Leading 2-0, Team Bernard stumbled a little and the momentum shifted in favor of Wood. Make the final Team Bernard 2 Team Wood 5.
So, moving to the B event, next opponent was Team Rogers: it wasn’t that easy either but they managed to dig in and grabbed this one 4-3.
The Next match is Saturday morning, November 4th, at 9.30am (mt) against Basel-Regio from Switzerland. Let’s go ladies!!!

Red Deer Classic
Team Bernard is on the right track. Last 3 tournaments, they reached the playoffs doing better each time. There are things to fix here and there, but it’s definitively positive. Will it be a good year for Cheryl and Co. in Red Deer? First match is at 12.15pm, Friday November 2nd, against Team Wood. You can follow the tournament on Asham World Curling Tour website.
Let’s see their part of the draw.

Red Deer Update
Well, it was a hard day at the office for Team Bernard and this time, Asham didn’t make any mistake. First match was against Jones and while Jones was scoring 2, Team Bernard was forced to score one so it ended with a 8-3 win for Jones and this time, Bernard really slides to the C event.
Either they didn’t have time to regroup or it was simply a bad day, but full credit to Scheiddegger who took full advantage of it. Team Bernard did better than last year in Red Deer but it wasn’t enough to make it to the playoffs.

Red Deer Update
Following the livescore today was difficult – sorry Asham Website, but your updater was screwing up big time. After adding score to the wrong teams, they also spread around the wrong winner. Either the updater don’t know the team - which I would find quite odd since people around curling should know the teams - or simply sleeping on the switch but that was not a good day for the website.
And, the day started slow for Bernard , especially on their first match as they were losing 0-3 before bouncing back - a little too late: Law stole 2 in the last end to get away with the win, which sent Bernard to the B event.
So then our squad had to face Holland. Bernard has a good record against her but at some point, Team Bernard was trailing 4-1 but bounced back by scoring 3 in the 7th end, and stealing one in the eight so they won 5-4. On that, I could debate on how much Asham messed up spreading around for an hour that Holland won, but at the end, what matter is that Bernard did win this match. They will face Team Jennifer Jones tomorrow morning at 9am with an extra hour of sleep.
Don’t forget to change time!

Red Deer Classic Update
That is a good start: 2 close games but consistent enough to win. On both matches, they let their opponents scored 3 but but each time, they managed to contain the damage and bounced back.
Next match is tomorrow morning at 11.15am (ct) against Team Kelley Law. Skip Law, for those who remember, is the bronze medalist in Salt Lake - 2002 Olympic Games. Stay Focus Ladies!

Red Deer Classic Update
First of all, not being able to attend any match, i have to follow the livescore to follow the match. Today, the livescore totally sucks: so much, that i think that the person doing it went to bed and forgot to update the score so, we’ll have to wait tomorrow morning to know the result of the second match.Indeed, Team Bernard had pull out a great win this morning with consistence and able to restrain to opponent to score and steal. A win over Team Tirinzoni 6-3.

Red Deer Classic Update
It was a hard day at the office for Team Bernard as they slide already to C event losing their first and second match. In the first match, they were facing Team Kaufman and they never really find the momentum. They lost 6-3. Then, a costly rough start against Team Overton-Clapham and it was already 6-0 after 2 ends. We’ve seen worst, and hope till the end, but they just didn’t have it today.
The tournament is not over, as they still can qualify but they can’t loss anymore game. Tomorrow opponent is Team Tirinzoni of Switzerland. Hopefully, they will start the day on the right foot.

The Red Deer Curling Classic
The tournament starts this Friday, November 5th, and the draw is out: Team Bernard’s first match is at 1.00pm (MT) against Team Kaufman. This is a triple knockout formula, so, Overton-Claphman, Sweeting and Nedohin are on their side of the draw as possible tight battle, but, we never know.
The Red Deer Curling Classic wasn’t always called this way. Prior to 2007, it was called The Community Savings Ladies Classic, and i guess it did take many appellations since it exists. It is held at the Red Deer Curling Club in Alberta, to similar dates each year.
Team Bernard does well in this tournament usually qualifying for the playoffs. In fact, they won it in 2008. They are practicing a lot these days to be able to repeat that kind of performance. Interesting fact: Carolyn won it with Team Bryden in 2004.
