Look who we got here: if you were there or watched it, Team Bernard new second - Lori Olson Johns - was playing third in Team Crystal Webster back then. She was 7 months pregnant and Webster was sweeping for her.

Players' Championship update

It didn't end the way they would have wanted, the way we would have wanted, but it doesn't lessen all the efforts and great accomplishments of these last 6 years. The crowd that were there at the Crystal Center gave them the farewell that whole Canada would have offered: Everybody rose to their feet and roar in one of the most amazing standing ovation.

Players' Championship update

Very nice win for Team Bernard as the squad beats Team Kleibrink 4-2. "It was a good game – I felt we were in control but it went back and forth a little bit," said Bernard. "It was nice to have an open draw for the win." Tomorrow, April 14th, at 13.30pm (MT), they will compete for a place in Friday’s playoffs against Team McCarville, skips by Crystal Webster; Krista enable to travel due to work commitment.

Players' Championship update

That's the right way to start with a very nice win over Team Overton-Clapham 7-4. the foursome kept high % through the game and kept their cool even if their opponents were able to keep up. Tomorrow's match up against Team Shannon Kleibrink: a big match already, but that will certainly set the tone and say more about how they are feeling out there. Go Team Bernard Go!

Some quotes from the skip regarding this last event with her teammates Cori and Carolyn when she was asked if the emotions will affect their game :

"No, that'll be off the ice - that'll happen with a glass of wine after dinner," Cheryl said. "With the Olympics, we've dealt with emotions before. So I don't think focus is going to be a problem. You want to go out and win everything you're in."

"I'm sure at the end of the event, when it's all said and done - I don't know if we'll be emotional - but we will reflect on what we've accomplished… and ... yeah ... I'm sure we'll get a little emotional about the whole thing.

"We took four people that were decent, high-level players and put something together to create something pretty special," she the skip. "To get those personalities to work so well together, it doesn't really happen often. That's rare when that happens."

Players' Championship

This is going to be an emotional tournament for the squad as it is their last event as a team. They are not parting ways because they don’t love each other anymore, but to preserve the past by taking in account their present motives which will help them moving forward into the future.

Let’s face it, none of the team competing in this tournament will give them a chance and if they want that title, they will have to bring their A game and that, right from the beginning.

Take a look at the draw and you’ll know what I mean. You can follow the event on ASHAM curling tour website.
