The Skins Part I

It had been said earlier, in April, there will be a rematch between Martin and Bernard. Since several of you have been asking for more videos because well, we miss the girls! I thought mixing those 2 elements would be nice so I will do some sort of recap of the TSN skins game match from last January. That was great to watch : It’s not every day that the old bear got a scare.

The battle of sexes – The rematch

Yup, Team Bernard will do it again : after putting up a good fight and giving the big bear a scare at the Casino Rama Skins Game last January, Cheryl said yes without any hesitation to a rematch against Team Martin.

It will be another skins, and that event will occur on March 28th 2011 prior to the Victoria Classic at the Archie Browning Sports Centre in Esquimalt. Read more about it on this article from the Time Colonist.

Skins Game Exclusive

Looking back on the skins, there is a lot to remember: smiles and fun, but also, we remember that the girls gave a scare to the old bear - 4 skins won and some great curling from the Squad. Visits earlier treats about the event which includes awesome pictures, articles and the shot of the match which belong the Cheryl Bernard.

This is my 400th entry... who would have thought we would go that far, huh? And almost a year in a week. So, it's a perfect occasion to post one of the finest shot in curling in 2011.

The first end of this game was quite something, and Cheryl probably did one of the 10 best shots of the year then. During the next few days, I will share a lot of images and some of the best shots the girls made during that game.

That was quite an interesting match between the Girls and the Boys and the special TSN Skins Game. Cheryl and her squad proved that they can keep up with Martin. You can read all about it on precious entries here.

Team Bernard can be proud

Cheryl and her teammates surely gave a scare to Martin today. The Girls were “this close” to beat the Boys. In the first part, Team Bernard made some awesome shots while Team Martin members were still trying to figure out the ice. On the second part, the men put themselves together and took the fifth end but still the women were still holding their part of the bargain big time. The seventh end had a 7500$ value and I’d say it was the only end that our favourite foursome had a little low: unfortunately, it determined also who would go to the final, and Martin got his 2 points . That last end was worth 6500$ and despite knowing that they would not go to the final, Bernard scored 2 to finish their day with a 10 000$ in gain while Martin got 11 000$.

Pretty close and with that result, Bernard proves that she can compete with the best male curlers on the planet.

Cheryl made a brief appearance on Canada AM to talk about the Skins Game happening this weekend. Team Bernard is going to play Team Martin tomorrow, Saturday January 22nd, at 8h00pm (ET). The match will be broadcasted on TSN.

Bernard to face Martin in Skins Game

Cheryl Bernard and her team, will play against Kevin Martin and his team. That is going to be on TSN Curling Skins Game next January. Quotes and comments from the Skip below but here’s my favorite: ''We've never had the opportunity to take on such a high caliber of men's teams so we jumped at the chance to participate in the TSN Curling Skins Game,'' said Bernard. ''The venue, format and interaction with the fans will definitely make for a fun weekend of curling. But watch out guys - we are playing to win.''
