Scotties
Would you like a little flashback in 1996 while we are watching the Tournament of hearts? The hair, the outfit, the broom, the different way to deliver, but even then, the curling was great.

How to be a better Curler

This weekend, the Scotties will start. We, fans of curling, will watch it, and that includes members of Team Bernard. As Cheryl says herself in a radio interview once, it does help improve your curling to watch some no matter your level.
Speaking of radio interview, Cheryl did a 3 parts interview “how to be a better curler” with CBC local radio station.

Time Flies
It does, isn't it? And, We had to mention it right? Vancouver 2010, Moments we will never forget. On February 12th, Team Bernard entered the BC Place Stadium along with 206 Canadians Athletes and it is at that moment Cheryl Bernard really acknowledged that it was true: she is an Olympian. On her book, "Between the Sheets: the Silver Lining", the Silver Medal Team, composed of Cori Bartel, Carolyn Darbyshire, Susan O’Connor and Cheryl Bernard shared their incredible experience.
Visit past entries to remember these Olympics games through pictures, articles, scores, videos and more. I do have some hidden goodies on my treasure box so, during the next 2 weeks, I am gonna add some of those, starting with some from the first match, against Team Switzerland, skipped by Myrjam Ott.

Between The Sheets : The Silver Lining quote
Between the Sheets has been done in great collaboration with a lot of athletes and not just curlers. Here's a good one from Jan Betker, long time third of Team Schmirler, from the chapter “They don’t do complacency”.
This is Cheryl with Jan who met for a good cause during the miracle treat day on August 11th this summer.
You can buy the book on Team Bernard Website.

Between the Sheets : The Silver Lining
You may possess the book already, so comes with it some great reading. If you don’t have it yet, you may want to get your copy here but as you wait for it, here’s one of many great quotes you can find in it.
From the chapter “a delicate mix : developing team chemistry”.
Team chemistry deepens when players feel they are growing as human being because of their involvement with the team. Curling is a game and meant to be fun. However, high-performance curling is a game with more at stake because of the emotional investment made by each player. When someone makes an emotion investment or commitment to a competitive curling team, the intuitive hope is that other benefits will kick in. If a person sees growth in other areas if his life because of his involvement with a team, the loyalty towards each teammate will grow. Trust grows deeper, accountability is more natural and the willingness to encourage is more intentional.
