February 23th, 2010 : Let’s move ahead with session 11, Team Bernard against Great Britain lead by Eve Muirhead. Canada won 6-5. Favorite picture, stats and an article. Also, a video posted on the BBC website right here. I thought it would be interesting to see the last point through the opponent commentator’s point of view. Some of us don’t have access to this little video so, I added it to.

Proud Moms

On February 24th, CBC had the chance to met Pat Bernard, Cheryl’s mother and Diane Bartel, Cori’s mother. These 2 women were beaming with proud talking about their daughters and revealed interesting things related to the 2010 Olympics.

Vancouver 2010 – Team Bernard versus Team Norberg - Match 7

February 22nd, 210. Team Bernard bounced back from their first defeat and beat Team Norberg, the defending champion, to secure a spot in the playoff. And since everything was cool, they decided to bring in Kristie Moore, who was pregnant of 5 months at the time. There she is on the picture below, along with the match’s stats, an article with quotes on match highlights and a little video.

Vancouver 2010 – Team Bernard vs Team Wang – Match 6

February 21st, 2010. Team Bernard finally suffered their first loss at their day 6 of competition. They were defeated in the extra by China. There were some great shots thrown in this match. See below comments of the skips, the statistics and a point scored, a double takeout, by Canada to keep Team Bernard alive and forced an extra.

Vancouver 2010 – Team Bernard vs Team McCormick – Match 5

February 21st, 2010. Team Bernard kept a clean record leading the round robin pool 5-0, the only team still undefeated. They played great shots, which disoriented the American team. After 7 ends, Team USA had enough. Picture, article, video and stats, enjoy! As it is now a classic on this blog, screen caps of this match will be posted in a near future. Guys, i find this video kinda cool! I hope you will enjoy it as much as i enjoyed doing it!

Vancouver 2010 – Team Bernard vs Team Dupont – Match 4

February 19th, 2010. Team Bernard was still undefeated at 4-0 by beating Team Denmark 5-4. An extra end was also required to sin this match that didn’t look like a victory for our ladies when it first started. Article, stats, video of the last point of the match and picture. Vancouver 2010 – Match 3 – Team Bernard vs Team Schoepp

February 18th, 2010. Team Bernard was facing Germany, Andrea Schoepp leading the team. Cheryl and her rink were able to win this one in an extra end keeping their record clean at 3-0. Vancouver 2010 - Match 1 - Team Bernard vs Team Ott

We will all remember February 16th 2010 for a long time; Team Canada first match, first win, at the Olympics. Pictures, stats, a video (end 3 Carolyn first stone) and some quotes. They were officially Olympians!

This is a very nice chat with Cheryl after her win at the Grey Power Player Championship. It was live on that day, but if you missed it, here's your chance to see it again.

She talked about her place in San Diego. She confirmed that there won't be any retirement, at least for now. Several questions to our muse of 2010 Olympics Games. Lots of question of People from Brazil. She talked about the Curling lessons she gave to our Minister. She also talked about how fitness play a part in the game now, the schedule of Team Bernard next year and many other things.

It might take a little while before it's ready, but it's worth it. Enjoy!

Grey Power Players' Championship - Shot of the match

Since my picture of the day was a reminder of this great victory at the Grey Power Players's Championship few weeks ago, i thought it was imperative to see again the shot of the match, which gave the victory to Team Bernard. A beautiful throw by a classy player good for 3 points to defeat Team Crystal Webster 6-4.

Ok, i took that from the Morning Roar online magazine, modified it a little but Cheryl was on the front page after the first day of competition of the Roar of the Rings, i thought it was pretty cool and i like those pictures quite a lot.

Team Bernard were the only team in the top four to win their opening match. She needed a precise double takeout to score a 10th end fiver and overhaul Thunder Bay's Krista McCarville 11-7. You want to see that point? i got it right here;

"yeah, just a double routine for five" quipped Bernard, "But you know, that's the one we wanted to win".
