Bernard confident in her team

Heading to the Olympics, there were lots of whispers being Team Bernard’s back about how they were going to deal with the pressure wearing the maple leaf for the first time in their life. It might be uncharted territory, but is not like they had never played against those international teams. In fact, they defeated some of them, including their first opponent, Team Switzerland, twice this year.

One thing for sure, Bernard Rink has proven to be a tough team to beat and able to deliver the toughest shots on key moments. Cheryl Bernard and Susan O’Connor had confined their thoughts about it to the Edmonton Journal just before their first match against Team Ott. That was on February 16th, 2010.

  1. Probably the best thing any athlete can do is listen to their own voice. Competitive jealousy runs rampant in sports.
It is athletes who let the negative comments roll off their backs, believe in themselves and follow their own plan that win in the end.
Let the negatives go in one ear and out the other. Armchair curling experts are a dime a dozen..and as they say "talk is cheap".

Team Bernard took a disciplined, hard-working, prepared approach to winning the Olympic spot.

They don't have to defend their superior record any longer..
Right now they are in the Top Three in the Women's Curling world...
